About The Course
This one-year diploma equips aspiring aviation professionals with the knowledge, skills, and industry-recognized training required to succeed in various ground and air service roles across international airports and airlines. It provides a comprehensive foundation for careers in airline operations, ground services, and cabin crew management.
Course Objective
The IATA One-Year Diploma in Aviation Management & SEP is designed to prepare individuals for professional roles across airline and airport operations. The program combines foundational knowledge in aviation management with practical training in safety and emergency procedures (SEP), enabling students to:
Understand operational procedures in passenger services, ramp handling, and airport management
Develop in-demand skills for cabin crew and ground staff roles
Gain hands-on training in emergency response, including firefighting, first aid, and water survival
Enhance customer service, communication, and professional grooming standards
Improve cultural competence and inflight communication through basic Arabic training
Strengthen job readiness through structured interview and career development sessions
Course Content
Main Modules:
Passenger Ground Services (PGS) – 60 hours
Airline Cabin Crew – 60 hours
Airport Operations Management (AOP) – 60 hours
Airport Ramp Services – 60 hours
Ground Operation Management (GOM) – 80 hours
Additional Certifications:
Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR 4.1.I & 4.1.J) – 12 hours
Practical SEP Training – 8 hours
(Covers: Fire & Smoke, Water Survival, First Aid, Hypoxia, Aircraft Doors & Exits, etc.)
Support Modules:
Grooming and Professional Development – 9 hours
Interview Preparation – 9 hours
Arabic Language for Aviation – 24 hours
Prerequisite
- Participants should have a basic understanding of air cargo or passenger handling operations.
- A foundational knowledge of aviation terminology, aircraft types, and ground handling processes is recommended.
- The training will be conducted in English, so participants should be comfortable with English communication in a professional context.
Exam & Certification
Participants who successfully pass the final exam will be awarded a Certificate of Completion issued by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), Government of Dubai.
Exam Details:
- Format: Closed-book
- Duration: 3 hours each module. That means 4 exams
- Passing Grade: 75%
- Attempts Allowed: 2
